Here are some other great still photos
of Stuart Whitman as U.S. Marshal Jim Crown that were also used
for promotional purposes. This first photo is one that was originally
taken from several different angles. If you look at the color
photo on the front page of the Cimarron Strip website you will
notice the similarity.
This second photo, which was from
the pilot episode entitled "Battleground", neatly
displays a great close-up of Marshal Crown as he is seated comfortably,
with Winchester in hand, next to the cage in which he has corraled
the wild and crazy figure of Mobeetie (Warren Oates). It was near
this point in the story that Mobeetie told Crown that "Old
Ugly Bear" (Telly Savalas) and settlers leader William Payne
(R.C. Armstrong) would strip his hide up for "GEE GAWS!"
Here
is a great photo of the lovely Jill Townsend and veteran actor
Joseph Cotten from the episode entitled The Search. In
this episode, Joseph Cotten portrays the role of Dr. Nathan Tio,
a heavy drinking outcast physican whose medical practices are
questioned by the townspeople of Cimarron. With no one to turn
to for help, Dulcey desperately looks to Tio to save a seriously
injured Marshal Crown.
Here is a great picture of Stuart
Whitman as himself from the November 1967 issue of TV Guide,
which had his personal story in the feature article which was
entitled, "Stuart Whitman's Marshal Plan." The
article was four pages in length and displayed an interesting
synopsis of Stuart Whitman's film career and off-screen life.
